Hamilton Men’s Circle
We are a group of men from the Waikato region from all walks of life who are part of the Essentially Men network who meet on a regular basis to provide support for each other and our community. We are inclusive – any man is welcome – fostering local men’s work through regular meetings and gatherings.
Wellington Men’s Group
Our Men’s Group formed out of former attendees of Essentially Men and has been running for 20 years. We are open to men who are working on their personal development and are interested in joining like-minded men. We help men share what is important to them. Whangarei Men’s Groups
There are two Whangarei Men’s groups. The first has been running for about four years and is full, having reached its natural maximum of eight men. The second began meeting in March 2015 and welcomes enquires from interested men. Both groups meet fortnightly and rotate the venue between members homes. The groups aim to provide a forum for men to discover a deeper reality, to share and to support each other. The emphasis is on personal development, growth and learning.
ChangeWorks is dedicated to providing excellence in all areas of youth and family services. Their goal is for an ‘abuse-free community’. It was formed in 2006 to work collaboratively alongside both government and non-government organisations, providing special programs to help young men and women to develop skilled, positive long term relationships within their communities, their families and themselves.
An Auckland based charity that supports men and children who have experienced childhood sexual trauma. They have provided support in Auckland since 2007. Their service is confidential, independent and free of charge. They offer individual One2One peer support meetings and Peer Support Groups.
Canterbury Men’s Centre
Provides one to one support, helping a man set his goals and pointing him in the right direction. Also runs projects for men such as Men’s Sheds and men’s health events.
Imago Institute For Relationships NZ
Couples training developed by Harville Hendrix presented by certified Imago presenters Peter McMillan and Brenda Rawlings. Excellent practical training and deepening for any relationship.
Father and Child Trust
Father and Child Trust offer information and support for men in their role as a parent. They provide phone, in person or peer group support from Onehunga, Wellington and Christchurch, plus booklets and correspondence courses on parenting and anger management.
ManAlive – Henderson, Auckland
A men’s centre offering counselling, boys and youth programmes, anger management and parenting courses for men.
Big Buddy Auckland
Big Buddy matches well-screened volunteer male mentors with fatherless boys aged approx. 7-14yo. Men can volunteer to be a part of the Big Buddy Mentoring scheme.
Tracks Trust – Golden Bay
Tracks is a registered Charitable Trust based in Golden Bay that specialises in assisting young men to make the fundamental, emotional and psychological shift from child to young adult. Their community led camps are designed as a powerful rite of passage for boys and their families
Great Fathers is a national initiative encouraging new dads to get involved and engaged with their baby. We are child-centred but father-focused. We primarily work through the parenting support sector to help existing service providers to offer good support to new dads.
